John Bowerbank and Heidi Hassall, founders of Cafe Network, want recommendations from cyclists just like you to build a map of decent stop-offs that all cyclists can use.
The map is a work-in-progress and updates are usually carried out every two weeks, on a Thursday night / Friday morning but dates are notified on their Facebook page.
As well as Cafes, you can add accommodation, bike shops, and cycling clubs too, and you can download an App for your Apple and Android devices so you can access Cafe Network whilst out and about (very handy).
Making a recommendation is nice and simple – just click the relevant button on their home page.
“If it’s one thing we’ve learned about cycling, it’s that everyone likes a café stop! Whether it be a social ride or you’re on route to somewhere, taking a break with a good cup of coffee and a cake is a pleasure. However, when planning rides, finding a decent stop-off isn’t always easy, especially cycle-friendly ones. This community aims to bring together cyclists (and possibly others) from all over the UK and Ireland to share information (the good and the bad) about cafes and tea rooms in their area.”
